Long apendages support and lovely, well groomed thick pelted mammal. Her paws padded silently along the chipped forest floor as she minded her own business. Cassie was a well respected wolf, who rarely ever got into trouble. The last was when she was with her birth pack and challenged one of her siblings. But no blood was shed. High abover her apex birds sung their hearts out announcing that the new dawning day was going to be a good one, which was not completely obivous from the ground, as the maple trees reached high into the air, yet animal were everywhere around. Its canopy so far up, Cassie had to crane her neck to look at the sky, as the torsos of the other trees surrounding were to compact. The scent of the trees was strong, and also the damp earth which harboured insects and bugs were just beneath her paws, but Cassie was not easile grossed out. She was strong. The trees and earth were not the only scent she could smell, there was another potant scent, she knew there was someone else there, but showed no signs of being aware. Keeping calm and carrying on walking Cassie had no plans. Total word count: 214

PANDORA
Pandora emerged from the hollowed tree she had spent the night in. One might think on this beautiful sunny day (what one could see of this sunny day through the budding branches), the moisture accumulated on the little leaves of the trees and protective buds of new forest foliage had been dew, when in actuality it had been the cause of the rainstorm the forest had endured the previous night before, the storm that at one point became so fierce that Pandora had to seek the shelter of the hollowed tree, if any other night she might have just stayed under the cover of the branching forest floor shrubs. There were more leaves on the shrubs on the ground than on the trees, but not enough to shield her from sideways rain. She let out a tremendous yawn and shook her body, flecks of water flying off in several different directions as she did. After the shake she stood as if a statue and looked around. She took deep inhales of air, trying to catch scent of the world around her: predator, prey, anything. Nothing but wet dirt and plant life. She listened. There were the normal sounds of the birds and the rustling in the bushes, rabbits, rats, but nothing that seemed big enough to cause a problem. To give one last check, with a huff she stood up on her hind legs and did a complete three-hundred-and-sixty-degree check of her environment. For as for as she could see in the dense wood forest, she was okay to move about. So that's what she did. Here and there she went, looking for her morning meal. Though she attempted to chase a rabbit once, she gave that up and instead went to the plant life. Her chase had brought her to a highly shrubbed area, and she knew there would be tasty, juicy roots in the earth below, just waiting to be uncovered. With one more quick once-over of her environment, she began her 'hunt' for roots. Her claws cut the saturated earth and her nose stuck to the ground. She pulled out a root and a weed and carefully placed it in her mouth with her claws. Ahhhh, she thought ruefully to herself, I love breakfast. She heard some rustling in the bushes nearby, but because she did not smell the danger of a predator, she continued her meal.
